Q: Is CrossFit for me?
• Have you lost interest in your routine?
• Don’t have much time to exercise?
• Want to improve your performance in any sport?
• Want to feel good and have more energy?
• Looking for a fun place to work out, where you feel like part of a community?
Yes, CrossFit is for you!
CrossFit workouts are constantly changing so you will never get bored with a routine. A constantly changing routine will also keep your body from hitting a plateau as your muscles will never get a chance to adapt. Other workouts that simply increase resistance, weight, or time duration will cause most people to plateau as they reach the limit of how much your body can do or can do safely.
With Crossfit you are getting anaerobic, aerobic and strength training.
Q: How can I get a good workout in 30 minutes or less?
A: Everyone’s time is valuable and that is why CrossFit is perfect for everyone. Most workouts last between 10 and 30 minutes letting you get in, out, and on with your life.
Research has shown that higher intensity, shorter duration exercise yields greater benefits than lower intensity, longer duration exercise. In fact, training in high-intensity, anaerobic exercise translates very well into your ability to perform longer, aerobic exercise. The most common mistake people make when exercising is to train in only one aspect of fitness such as aerobic or anaerobic capacity. CrossFit believes that the most fit person has the ability to perform any and all tasks, which is why at times our workouts go longer in order to improve your aerobic output. See What is CrossFit?
Q: What if I have an injury?
A: Most injuries and pain come from the lack of exercise because of the weakness of the tendons and muscles around the joints. Many of our clients that have had injuries or joint pain have found relief through exercise. All CrossFit workouts are scalable to anyone and we will work with you to slowly build strength in the areas you need it most.
Q: Do I have to be in shape to start CrossFit?
A: Since our work outs are scalable to varying abilities, anyone from beginner to elite athlete can find them challenging and effective.
Q: I am a woman. Will I get bulky?
A: Unlike men, women lack the hormones that build large, bulky muscles. Only very few women with a combination of high calorie, high protein diet and heavy, daily weight lifting can actually build bulk. Women participating in CrossFit can expect a lean and strong, but still feminine, body.
Q: Can I get hurt doing CrossFit?
A: CrossFit is no more dangerous than any other activity you perform. Injuries result from movements done incorrectly. An important aspect of CrossFit is to learn the proper technique in performing each exercise, to be able to perform that technique repeatedly, and only then increase load and intensity at which you perform that task. This focus on proper technique will actually reduce the risk of injury during both workouts and your other daily activities.
