Stuck not losing body fat even with hard work at the gym? Lacking energy? It’s likely your diet! We’re sure you’ve heard that before…
But what actually is it about your diet that is preventing you from losing body fat?
Simple answer: constant consumptions of simple sugar and here is why…
When you eat simple sugar/ carbohydrates, eg. cereal for breakfast, sandwich bread and cookie for lunch, M&Ms or soda for mid day snack, and lots of starchy carbs for dinner (sounds like in you in anyway?) your blood sugar rises triggering your hormone insulin level to rise in order to bring down blood sugar to a safe level. Insulin then stores the sugar as body fat – it’s a storage hormone.
Here is the key point: If you constantly spike your insulin levels all day by eating simple sugar, not only do you gain body fat, you also do not produce the hormones you need to tell you when you are full.
And most important, your body does not produce the hormones that do the opposite of insulin, which is to go in and let you use the stored body fat for energy during exercise for example.
Because those two hormones balance with insulin, they don’t get produced well when insulin is high. You have just locked away your ability to burn body fat effectively during exercise and your metabolism is broken. Usually no amount of just exercise will fix it.
If you can’t use stored body fat for energy/exercise, the only way to feel energized is by consuming more sugar which only worsens the issue.
Good news is a balanced diet with good carbohydrate sources along with higher intensity functional exercise can reset your metabolism by balancing the hormones mentioned above and turn you into a fat burning machine.
Changing a diet does not need to be difficult! It seems difficult because people try to make large changes all at once. Not only can that be overwhelming but hard to sustain. Failure rate is high with that sort of approach and changes short-lived… and even shorter without having someone to be accountable too.
We believe in making small consistent changes to your diet and life style in order to make them sustainable and find long-term success.
It does not need to be complicated or require a lot of time. Amazing results can be achived by implementing 7 key nutrition and lifestyle habits found in this blog post and we will show you how to implement them one by one.
