I’ve been a member for almost two years and am a huge fan of CR Crossfit. I enjoy Crossfit as a program because it’s always challenging and ever-changing. The coaches at CRCF reinforce this by constantly evolving and innovating with their programming. One of the things I’ve really come to appreciate with Crossfit is the skill development and progression for basically all of the movements, particularly Olympic lifting. When I started Crossfit, I was used to programs with very little coaching or instruction–I was basically paying to be led through a workout. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and are continually receiving additional certifications and adding to their knowledge. The level of individual coaching I’ve received is one of the things I really appreciate about CRCF that I don’t think you find anywhere (without hiring a personal trainer). Highly recommended…it’s a great environment and community with some stellar leadership.

I have never had so much fun working out. The coaches are great, the other members are motivating, and I look forward to going every day. The workouts are the toughest I’ve ever done. Watch out, it can be addictive!

When I started CROSSFIT I thought to myself what did I get myself into. It took fitness to a whole different level. I was addicted right away. Cedar Rapids Crossfit has great knowledgeable trainers and fantastic programming! Not only that the people there have become my second family! I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to be around daily! Everyone is so easy to talk to, encouraging, motivating and most of all fun to be around. My whole life has changed and thanks to Cedar Rapids Crossfit I met my boyfriend and made some life time friends! I joined CR Crossfit about seven months ago and I’ve loved every second of it! The coaches and other members really push you beyond what you thought you could ever do, and are very welcoming and friendly. I was a complete beginner when I started, and they worked with me every step of the way to make sure I was getting everything I could out of the workouts. Just over a year ago I decided to join CR CrossFit. I’d been sitting on the couch for almost 10 years and rarely picking up the weights or doing a pushup. I fact I had a year-long membership at a local gym and only went once. I decided it was time for a change and I was hooked once I stepped foot inside CR CrossFIt. Not only have I lost over 10% body fat and 20 lbs., but I’ve gained a box full of new friends that have quickly become my CrossFit family outside of working out. The trainers and programming are top notch and they will push you beyond where you think you can go to reach your full potential. I’m so glad I joined and I don’t ever see myself without it in my daily routine/life.

I’m a 37 year old mother of a 2 and 4 year old, I’ve been working out @ Cross Fit since July 2010. The workouts are more intense and more focused than I’ve ever had in my years going to a gym on my own, working with a personal trainer, or any video workout I’ve ever tried. I feel strong, confident, and motivated to do better each time I work out @ Cross Fit for myself, my children, and husband. I considered myself in pretty good shape with martial arts and cardio training, but I had no idea how out of shape I really was on basic movements! Crossfit helped strengthen my cardio and overall conditioning in ways I couldn’t do on my own. It has helped me improve in my other sports and I can do real chin-ups for the first time in my life. The great people and atmosphere at the Cedar Rapids Crossfit are an added bonus!

I have been doing the Crossfit class workouts for about 6 months. When I had to go to a normal gym when I traveled, I was just bored! I was in there for an hour and couldn’t get the same feeling I get after 20 min in the Crossfit gym. Crossfit pushes me harder than I could ever do on my own, and its a lot cheaper and more fun than a personal trainer. Every day is different and every day is a new personal challenge.

Having been an athlete for most of my life I’ve experienced just about every kind of workout I thought existed…and then I found CrossFit. The principles applied by CrossFit aim to build functional strength. I used to think I was strong, and now I’ve realized that while I was strong in the conventional sense, I didn’t have strength I could really use. CrossFit changed that. Now, after working out with Jake and Dmitry for months, I’ve been shown my weaknesses, I’ve attacked them, and I’m now in of the best shape of my life. Athlete or not, anyone can benefit from these workouts. CrossFit will help you reach goals you thought were unattainable, and show you that you are capable of things you never thought were possible. Try it, it will be harder than you ever imagined, but you won’t regret it.
